Alex Ross will have a Plethora of DC Comics Exclusives at SDCC!

If you love comic art, then you are no doubt a fan of Alex Ross. He is the artist behind some of DC Comics most iconic imagery! From the classic mini-series “Kingdom Come”, to his work on the mini-series “Justice”, Ross’ work stand tall above the pack. With San Diego Comic-Con 2018, now just one day away, you will not have to wait very long to take out your wallet and throw loads of money at him.

Alex’s booth will contain many cool DC Comics painting and covers that you can find only at San Diego Comic-Con 2018! First up is a classic collage of DC super-heroes and super-villains in Absolute Justice: Battle. The 47 3/4″ x 32 1/2″ panoramic fine art giclee comes hand-numbered and personally signed by Alex Ross. It will premiere at San Diego Comic-Con, and be available for $1995 each.

Next up is Joker: Monster in the Making. The lithograph is signed by Alex Ross, and the artwork was originally created for a limited edition comic series, “Batman Black and White Vol. 2.” It’s limited to only 100 pieces and will retail for $195. For those who can’t make it to the con, Alex Ross Art will offer a limited number available online. Fans interested in purchasing the piece are should join the waitlist on the Alex Ross Art website.

Next up for Ross is his official 2018 sketchbook. Ross will have two exclusive sketchbooks for the con, including an unsigned hardcover for $25 and a signed limited edition hardcover for $50. The sketchbook features a nice Batman and Robin themed cover, which you can see below!

The next print on the list is the Kal-El: The Last Son of Krypton.The illustration (a 16″x”20″ fine art giclée on paper) depicts a minimalist, Superman flying through the air. Hailing from the planet Krypton, Kal-El is orphaned after his planet is destroyed. With the destruction of all who inhabited his planet, Kal-El becomes the Last Son of Krypton.

Each print is elegantly presented with hand-deckled edges, and comes signed by Ross. Each piece is also hand-numbered, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. It’s limited to just 50 pieces, and will retail for $395. For those who can’t make it to the con, Alex Ross Art will offer a limited number available online starting on preview night, Wednesday, July 18.

Next up is Origins: Superman, a fine art matted lithograph based on the graphic novel Peace on Earth. Ross traces Superman’s origins in the piece, beginning with his birth, and then including scenes like Jor-El placing his son in a small rocket to launch him to safety, a scene with the Kents, and then Superman growing into his true self.

The 14 1/2″ x 15 1/2″ lithograph will retail for $50, and is limited to 500 pieces.

Finally, if you are into variant comic covers, Alex Ross is the man to get your fix! Alex will have a set of three different variant covers for Batman #50 featuring the Batman Family (A), Catwoman (B), or Batman Black and White (C). You will be able to pick up the covers in a variety of packages, as well as having them either unsigned or signed with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity. There will be a limited number of each available for pre-order on June 22 (some at a discounted price) and will ship on July 12.

A few days ago we shared with you a Teen Titans Go! art print by Christopher Uminga that will be available at his booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2018. Last night, Christopher revealed another print that will be sure to sell out quick! His unique art style stands apart from his competitors with a dark grittiness, that contains just enough big eyed charm to give it a kid friendly vibe. Currently there is no word on how many of these will be available, or the price for them.

About the Artist:

Born in Russia and now based in Germany, concept artist Alexandr Pascenko is a self-taught illustrator specializing in character and figure creation. With a definite affinity for sci-fi and beautiful girls, Alex has produced stunning artwork for various companies and publishers from all over the globe, now including Sideshow. Ian MacDonald, or “Moose” or “Maple Syrup Jackass” as he’s known in some circles, was born in eastern Canada in 1988 has been freelancing for Sideshow for the past 5 years. He’s a graduate of animation, previously having worked a brief stint on the My Little Pony television series; he uses his knowledge acquired through that medium to apply to his concept design and painting at Sideshow. When not drawing undead creatures or superheroes, Ian spends his time nerding out to video games, movies, anime and the like.
