TOY FAIR 2020: KIDROBOT DC COMICS DISPLAY

We continue our tour of Toy Fair 2020 with a stop at the Kid Robot booth. Unfortunately there was only two DC Comics items at their booth this year and these were seen at their booth as far back as Toy Fair 2018. The Harley Quinn Brandt Peters statue and the Wonder Woman Tara McPherson statue.

Our friends at Figures.com have posted several photos of the items on display at the Kid Robot display. Check out the cool DC Comics items on display below, and if you want to see all the Kid Robot offerings on display, head on over to Figures.com.

About Kid Robot:

Founded in 2002 by designer Paul Budnitz, Kidrobot is the world’s premier creator of limited edition art toys and apparel. Kidrobot creates toys, apparel, accessories, and other products in collaboration with many of the world’s most talented artists and designers, and the company also regularly collaborates with many of the world’s top brands to create unique limited edition items. Kidrobot’s products are the centerpieces of a global movement that exemplifies the cutting edge of both pop art and mass culture.

About Brandt Peters:

Brandt Peters is a self-taught illustrator and designer whose work has garnered international attention from the fine art gallery circuit. His paintings explore the eras of ancient cartoons, Victorian toys and pre-WWI vintage ‘Pop’ ephemera; all fodder from being raised by a family of artists and antique collectors. A world composed of creepy sideshow icons, deviant Animalia, and “masked” glorified cartoon alter egos, these characters and cultures serve as the very antitheses of what is traditionally deemed innocent and socially acceptable. Although misfits on the surface, a sense of relation is understood: secret from the public, we are all misfits — hiding behind animated personas, odd and beautifully unusual. Who is it that we relate to? The lonely little boy hiding in a bear suit; the evil, lustful pool-hall wolf; the sexualized little girl who secretly wants more. The environment and its limited population are meant to conjure these questions; the viewers must draw their own conclusions. Brandt lives and works in New Mexico with his wife and partner, Kathie Olivas and his two dogs, Bailey and Diego.
