Collectors waiting for The Joker (Batman: The Killing Joke) Gold Label figure are facing huge disappointment. McFarlane Toys has announced that all pre-orders are canceled.

In a recent email, McFarlane Toys revealed the shocking reason behind this move. A tractor-trailer carrying a whole shipping container of toys was stolen. The entire US production run of the figure was among the stolen items. You can read the email I received earlier in the day.

ORDER UPDATE: THE JOKER (THE KILLING JOKE) GOLD LABEL

Hello Ashley,

We are writing to inform you that early last week a tractor-trailer with a full shipping container was stolen while in route to the McFarlane Toys Store warehouse. Among the numerous McFarlane Toys figures in cargo was the entire US production run of The Joker (Batman: The Killing Joke) Gold Label McFarlane Cover Recreations. This theft is currently being actively investigated by Law Enforcement.  

McFarlane Toys does not take this situation lightly. Throughout the week we monitored the situation and were hopeful that the stolen cargo would be recovered so we could fulfil orders as scheduled. Unfortunately, there has been no further information or developments at this time. As this figure was sold-out through the pre-order, we are faced with a very difficult situation of what to do. We regret to inform you that due to this unforeseen circumstance we must CANCEL ALL PRE-ORDERS for:

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through this difficult situation. A full refund will be issued to your original payment method. This is a manual process whereby we must refund each order individually, so this will take some time to process.

This isn’t the only figure to be canceled. Walmart recently sent out an email to collectors who purchased the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow figure from them. That figure was reportedly stolen as well. Is this a case of both figures being on the same truck, or are these two separate incidents?

Will The Joker return for pre-order if the police find the stash? What happens to those who successfully got an order in? Will they be guaranteed an order? I guess only time will tell.
