It’s time for Target’s yearly “Target Geek Out” event! Target Geek Out (sometimes stylized Summer Geek‑Out or Fall Geek‑Out) is Target’s recurring fan‑focused event under its “Collector’s Spot” banner. It typically features exclusive toys, collectibles, and pop‑culture merch across major franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers, TMNT, and more.

Typically, McFarlane Toys shows up with some awesome DC product, but so far, nothing has been announced. This leads me to wonder if the event will feature any DC action figure offerings at all?

Last fall during the Target Geek Out event, we saw the release of the McFarlane Toys BTAS Maxie Zeus build-a-figure wave, along with a Batman: The Animated Series cowl. During the summer of 2024, we saw the release of Metallo, Fire, The Rookie and Mr. Bloom 2-pack, The Joker and Punchline 2-pack, as well as a BTAS Batmobile. Fall of 2023 saw Gold Label releases like Hawkman, Sinestro Corps Sinestro, and more BTAS figures.

We’re now one week into the event, and there’s still no official word on any DC action figures being released. However, I have a strong hunch that the Batman: The Animated Series Jonah Hex build-a-figure wave will make an appearance before the month is over. McFarlane Toys previously showcased this wave at WonderCon, complete with a Target exclusive logo on the presentation slide. Other possible figures that could be revealed include “No Man’s Land” Batman, Stephanie Brown Batgirl, Monarch, and Bronze Age Nightwing—though those last four are purely speculative at this point.
