UPDATE – AND…. NOTHING! It was some Godfather pre-order… smh… Sorry for the false alarm.
Are you ready to expand your Hall of Justice? If the rumors swirling through the collecting community are true, today is the day we’ve all been waiting for. After weeks of cryptic silhouettes and social media teases, the first wave of the highly anticipated Entertainment Earth Exclusive Super Powers figures is expected to go up for pre-order.
The resurgence of the Super Powers line has been one of the most exciting chapters for DC collectors in recent years. What started as a nostalgic tribute to the 1980s Kenner classics has evolved into a powerhouse line under McFarlane Toys, blending vintage aesthetics with modern character depth. However, the partnership with Entertainment Earth marks a significant shift, moving the line into an era of retail exclusivity that has fans on high alert.
The Road to Wave 1
We first reported on this collaboration back on April 1, and while some wondered if the timing was an elaborate joke, the reality is far more exciting. McFarlane Toys and Entertainment Earth have confirmed a partnership that will span four distinct waves, totaling 20 new figures. This first wave, consisting of six mystery characters, has been the subject of intense speculation.
Entertainment Earth’s “Drop Zone” has been the focal point for this anticipation. The retailer’s countdown system often precedes major McFarlane drops, and with the current calendar lining up for a late-April reveal, all signs point to the pre-order links going live today, April 30. I can’t guarantee this information though, so be ready… Just in case…
What to Expect in the First Wave
While the specific roster remains “classified,” the silhouette teasers released earlier this month have given fans plenty to chew on. The Entertainment Earth Exclusive Super Powers line is rumored to go “deep into the DC Universe.”
The fan community is buzzing with theories. Many are hoping for the “vac-metal” Cyborg that was teased in original Kenner prototypes but never widely released in the 80s. Others are speculating that we might see more from the Supergirl movie era or perhaps some “Elseworlds” designs that would pop on the classic blister card packaging.
Personally, this looks like a 90’s Death of Superman type of wave. I see (from L to R) Cyborg Superman, Green Lantern Hal Jordan (with grey/white highlights in hair), Eradicator, Supergirl, Superman, and Maxima.

With shifts in the industry expected by the end of 2026, these exclusive waves represent a “golden era” for the 5-inch scale. For fans of the classic 5-point articulation and the iconic fabric capes, these figures are more than just toys; they are a continuation of a legacy that defined a generation of play.
McFarlane has mastered the art of the “retro-style” card back, updating the artwork to reflect modern comic sensibilities while maintaining that tactile, “fresh off the shelf in 1984” feel. If these exclusives follow the trend of previous Super Powers releases, they will likely feature vibrant colors and the signature action features that give the line its name.
How to Secure Your Pre-Order
I have heard that these figures will be extremely limited. If you want them, you better jump as soon as they go live. You do not want to pay aftermarket prices on these guys.
- Monitor the Drop Zone: Keep a tab open on the Entertainment Earth page.
- Check Social Media: Follow both McFarlane Toys and Entertainment Earth on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) for the “Go Live” announcement.
- Act Quickly: Exclusives often have limited production runs compared to general retail releases.
Stay tuned to DCCollectors.com as we continue to track this story; we will update this post with direct links the second the Entertainment Earth Exclusive Super Powers wave 1 pre-orders are officially live!

Those sound cool. I just hope they stay in the 70’s/80’s/early 90’s era of DC.
