New Mattel DC action figures are showing up in promotional images thanks to social media. For fans of the Caped Crusader and his legendary rogues’ gallery, these new Mattel DC action figures represent a nostalgic yet modern return to the 6.5-inch scale that dominated shelves for years. Keep in mind, these are NOT the collector grade figures, but the KID friendly figures.

A Hero and a Shapeshifter: Batman vs. Clayface

The first set revealed in these new promotional images features a classic pairing: Batman and the mud-slinging monster, Clayface. This Batman figure sports a sleek grey and black suit with a striking yellow oval emblem and utility belt, bascially the Rebirth suit. For kids, the inclusion of a massive projectile launcher and three yellow missiles, adds a “total destruction” play element to the set.

However, the real star of this duo is the Clayface figure. Towering over Batman, this version of the character features the textured, rocky “mud” skin that fans have come to expect. He comes equipped with his signature hammer-hand and a grasping claw, allowing for dynamic posing. The scale here is particularly impressive, as Clayface maintains his “mega-figure” status within the 6.5-inch line, ensuring he looks appropriately menacing next to the Gotham protector. The head/chest piece looks like it can rotate, maybe giving us an alternate look for the character.

Tactical Combat: Batman vs. Killer Croc

The second reveal takes us into the sewers of Gotham with a tactical twist. This set features a specialized Batman figure wearing heavy grey armor, tactical webbing, and red-tinted goggles. This “anti-Croc” suit looks ready for a high-stakes confrontation. The accessories included are equally impressive, featuring a large grapple-claw launcher with three orange projectiles and what appears to be a serrated bronze-colored blade or “saw” accessory.

Facing off against this armored Batman is a vibrantly colored Killer Croc. This version of Waylon Jones leans into the reptilian aesthetic with bright green scales and a torn white tank top. Think Jim Lee style Croc. Much like the Clayface set, the scale between the hero and the villain highlights the physical threat Croc poses. As fans look closer at the articulation, it appears these figures maintain the solid poseability that Mattel was known for during their long tenure with the DC license.

Back to the 6″ Scale for DC

For many long-time DC collectors, the 6.5-inch scale is the “gold standard.” While other companies have moved toward 7-inch scale in recent years, Mattel’s return to this size is a major win for fans who want their new figures to fit seamlessly with their existing collections. These sets seem designed to be play-ready toys, offering durability without sacrificing the sculpt quality that fans demand.

While details on the official release date and pricing are still forthcoming, these images suggest that Mattel is planning a bigger roll out of these kid-friendly figures than initially thought. By pairing iconic heroes with oversized villains, these sets provide incredible value right out of the box. Whether you are a dedicated collector of the Dark Knight or just looking to beef up your villain shelf, these new Mattel DC action figures are shaping up to be must-have additions for 2026.
