The team at JazzInc Dioramas is hard at work preparing for San Diego Comic-Con, and their latest sneak peek is a nice treat for fans of the classic Bruce Timm DC Animated Universe. Company founder Joost Assink shared a series of behind-the-scenes work-in-progress photos showcasing a spectacular upcoming 1/6 scale Harley Quinn figure, inspired directly by her iconic appearance in Batman: The Animated Series.
Following the incredible reception of their 1/6 scale Batman figure, this upcoming release aims to capture the exact stylized look of Gotham’s favorite Maid of Mischief. The preview photos highlight the figure’s tailored fabric costume, a variety of expressive head sculpts, and a massive armory of character-specific accessories.
High-End Craftsmanship on Display
This high-end release brings together an incredibly talented creative team to achieve maximum screen accuracy. The work-in-progress update features a look at the immaculate paint applications being handled by Andy Manoloff. He is currently finishing up the prototypes.
The figure features masterful character sculpts by Sean Dabbs. He perfectly captures the sharp angles, expressive eyes, and stylized proportions that defined the classic 1990s animated series. To bring the design to life in the third dimension, Pam Ford is handling the custom fabric tailoring for the iconic red and black jester suit. The fabric construction allows for clean lines and seamless articulation, keeping the figure looking exactly like a piece of animation come to life. The studio noted that the final production versions will include her signature white ruffles around the neck and wrists, which are not pictured in these early prototype photos.
Among the standout inclusions are two separate smiling and laughing Joker head sculpts. I guess this means we are getting a The Joker figure as well. The weapons selection includes everything from her oversized wooden mallet to her cork-plug pop gun. It also comes with a heavy-duty bazooka, and even a pair of the infamous Joker-faced laughing fish. Her signature open purse is also included, crafted to perfectly store her various criminal tools.
