San Diego Comic-Con has officially opened its doors, and for 1/6 scale collectors, all roads lead directly to the Sideshow and Hot Toys booth (#2401). Hot Toys has pulled out all the stops this year, serving up a spectacular lineup of DC Comics prototypes and upcoming releases that span current cinematic blockbusters, hit video games, and iconic comic runs.

Cinematic Powerhouses: Supergirl & Lobo

Taking center stage in the display cases are the upcoming big-screen powerhouses from DC Studios.

• Supergirl Movie Figure: Hot Toys delivered a breathtaking look at the upcoming Supergirl 1/6 scale figure. The tailoring on her suit, the intricate texture of the crisp blue and red fabric, and the flowing cape look incredible under the convention floor lights. Hot Toys has captured her determined, heroically intense expression with incredible precision, complete with her trusty companion Krypto.
• Lobo (Supergirl Movie): Right alongside the Girl of Steel stands the Main Man himself! Based on Jason Momoa’s explosive cinematic debut as Lobo, this figure is a masterclass in sculpt and outfit engineering. Featuring his signature chain hook, spiked armor, genuine leather motorcycle vest, and insane head sculpt complete with rolling eyeballs, Lobo dominates the display with raw attitude.

Comic Book Greats: Absolute Batman & Classic Universes

Beyond the silver screen, Hot Toys brought massive surprises for comic purists and gamer collectors alike.

Absolute Batman

One of the biggest head-turners at the booth is the debut prototype of Absolute Batman. Capturing the raw, imposing, heavy-set aesthetic of DC’s Absolute universe, this figure looks like it jumped straight off the comic page. The sheer bulk, massive battle-axe emblem design, and tactical re-imagining make it a must-have centerpiece for any Modern Era Dark Knight collection.

Arkham Origins Batman

Video game collectors have reason to celebrate as Hot Toys revisited the Arkhamverse with an updated Arkham Origins Batman. Featuring his heavily armored, winterized tactical batsuit from the classic prequel title, the figure displays fine weathering, intricate armor plating, and an array of gadgets that highlight Bruce Wayne’s early, brutal crime-fighting years.

Frank Miller Legends: Dark Knight Returns Showcase

To cap off an extraordinary exhibit, Hot Toys dedicated a special showcase section to Frank Miller’s legendary The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel line, presenting two iconic, battered titans.

• Dark Knight Returns Battle Damaged Batman: Capturing Bruce Wayne after his grueling gauntlets, this prototype highlights torn suit fabric, scuffed chest armor, facial bruising, and a gritty, weathered paint finish that honors the dark tone of Miller’s masterpiece.
• Dark Knight Returns Superman: Standing opposite the Dark Knight is the government-sanctioned Man of Steel. Designed with the broader, classic Frank Miller proportions, this figure looks imposing, sporting a rich fabric costume, dynamic cape, and a stern sculpt that captures Clark Kent caught in an impossible ideological war.
