The wait is finally over for retro DC collectors! Pre-orders for McFarlane Super Friends Wave 6 officially go live today, September 4th, across select online retailers. Expanding McFarlane Toys’ popular 6-inch retro action figure line inspired by the iconic Saturday morning animated series, this latest wave brings three classic characters into the lineup alongside a heavily rumored chase figure.

Action figure fans have been anticipating this drop since its initial announcement, and today marks the first chance to lock in orders for these nostalgia-fueled releases.

UPDATE – Placeholder links are below, and individual links will go live at noon EST today.

The Wave 6 Character Roster

This latest wave brings a balanced mix of heavy-hitting villains, classic heroes, and long-awaited fan-favorite characters to the retro lineup.

  • The Joker: No DC retro line is complete without the Crown Prince of Crime. Designed to capture his vibrant, animated appearance from the Super Friends television era, this 6-inch scale figure delivers the classic color palette and signature grinning portrait that defined the character’s Saturday morning look.
  • Apache Chief: One of the most requested members of the Super Friends roster, Apache Chief finally joins the 6-inch lineup. Known for his power to grow to immense size with the phrase “Ineekchok”, his inclusion marks another crucial addition toward completing the full animated Justice League team.
  • The Atom: Ray Palmer steps into the lineup to provide size-shifting heroics. Styled directly after his vintage animation model, The Atom sports his classic red and blue suit, complete with his belt logo and vintage cowl details.

What’s Missing?

While these three figures are surely a welcome addition to the line, we know that there will be at least one Platinum figure. This has been spoiled by Bro-Depot. The upcoming figure is rumored to be Warpland Superman. If you don’t remember this one, we have you covered.

In episode Batman and Superman are imprisoned by aliens, and they are turned into animals. Specifically a “man-bat”, and a “man-eagle”. It will be interesting to see if McFarlane Toys creates new wing arms for this Superman, or if they just cheapen out, and replace the head.

McFarlane Toys continues to build offer value with its retro DC lines, blending nostalgia with accessible 6-inch scaling. The inclusion of Apache Chief highlights McFarlane’s commitment to releasing cartoon-original heroes alongside staple characters like The Joker and The Atom.

With pre-orders opening on September 4th, collectors should prepare for quick sell-outs at major toy retailers. Be sure to check back with DC Collectors on release day for direct pre-order links and order updates as soon as listings go live.
