Take this with a big grain of salt… If you love weird movie theater concessions as much as I do, this latest drop is going to be right up your alley. Movie popcorn buckets have turned into full-blown collectible events over the last couple of years, and DC fans finally have another killer piece to track down. The official Clayface popcorn bucket has started hitting theater concession stands, and it looks even stranger in person than I expected.

Thanks to X user Bradley Osborn, we have a look at the Clayface popcorn bucket that arrived at a theater recently. Take this with a grain of salt, but many people where questioning the legitimacy of this piece and his response was:

I used to manage a movie theater and this was sent to me by one of my old employees who still works there.

A cursory look at his X account, and it doesn’t seem to be one that makes things up for likes.

A First Look at the Sculpted Clayface Bucket

Unlike standard paper tubs or basic printed plastic tins, this release uses a custom plastic mold. The main container features wrap-around graphics of Basil Karlo’s muddy brown form, complete with the character’s name styled along the side.

The main attraction here is the massive sculpt bursting out from the center of the tub. Extending right out of the popcorn well is a full, sculpted mud-hand reaching straight up. The detail on the arm features heavy texturing to capture that dripping, melted clay aesthetic, making it look like the villain is literally forming out of the bucket itself.

The hand piece sits right in the middle, leaving the surrounding rim open for your actual popcorn. It is a bold, almost grotesque design choice, which fits the shapeshifting Batman villain perfectly.

You Need to Act Fast

Theater exclusive merch like this rarely stays on concession shelves for long. Custom mold buckets like the Clayface tub are produced in limited runs compared to standard promotional gear, and once a theater sells through its initial stock, re-orders are pretty rare.

For action figure collectors and Batman diehards, these buckets have quickly become prized display pieces. Throw a battery-operated puck light inside or stand it up next to your McFarlane DC Multiverse figures, and it makes a fantastic backdrop piece for a collection shelf.

If you want to add this to your setup without paying inflated secondary-market prices on eBay, your best bet is to hit your local multiplex early in the week. Check the concession bar directly, as many theaters display these right at the main counter or bar area alongside specialty drinks.

Will You Be Picking One Up?

This release proves that theater concession merch is only getting wilder, and I am all for it. A full-sculpted Clayface hand reaching out of a popcorn container is exactly the kind of fun, quirky item that belongs in a DC fan’s display case.

Again, this could be fake, but it feels like this is something that would be legit. Don’t come after me if it turns out to be fake. I am just sharing cool finds with this one.
