After a few weeks of radio silence from McFarlane Toys concerning their DC license, things are starting to pick up. The company has revealed their third new figure this week in the form of the McFarlane New 52 Superman. The two previous reveals were Cyborg Superman and the Strange Lives of Superman figures.

I find it kind of odd that we are getting a McFarlane New 52 Superman, at this point in the line, but it is better than nothing at this point. From the official announcement on Instagram, we can see that the figure looks spectacular. It looks to come with a cloth cape and the S-shield is painted on the chest instead of sculpted.

Like the previous two announcements, this is exclusive to Target and can only be purchased in-store. No word on availability other than “coming soon.” Will you be tracking this one down for your collection? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.

About New 52 Superman:

This version of Superman is younger, more impulsive, and less experienced than his classic counterpart. Clad in a redesigned Kryptonian armor suit that replaced the traditional red trunks, New 52 Superman reflects a more contemporary, edgy tone for a new generation of readers. Raised by the Kents but shaped by a harsher world, he often grapples with trust and authority while still fighting for truth and justice. His stories explore themes of identity, alienation, and the weight of responsibility in a modern context.
