McFarlane Toys has announced another pre-order for July 8th! This time, the McFarlane Toys Spoiler figure will go up for pre-order along with the No Man’s Land Batman. What is interesting is that the social media releases refer to this figure as Batgirl (Stephanie Brown). To me, that is Spoiler. I don’t know that she has worn that costume as anything other than Spoiler.

If you think this McFarlane Toys Spoiler should be called Batgirl, leave a comment below. Maybe I am missing something. I just don’t recall her being Batgirl in this costume.

In any case, stay tuned for pre-order links on July 8th! Check out the official solicitation below.

Spoiler is the vigilante identity of Stephanie Brown, a prominent character in DC Comics. First appearing in Detective Comics #647 in 1992, she was created by writer Chuck Dixon and artist Tom Lyle. Stephanie is the daughter of the villain Cluemaster, and she originally donned the Spoiler identity to “spoil” her father’s criminal plans. Driven by a strong sense of justice and a desire to redeem her family’s name, she quickly became a recurring figure in Gotham City’s crimefighting scene.

Stephanie’s journey as Spoiler is marked by resilience and transformation. Although initially working solo, she often crossed paths with Batman and Robin (Tim Drake), eventually forming a romantic relationship with Tim. Her time as Spoiler was filled with ups and downs, including moments of disapproval from Batman, but she proved herself time and again through her persistence and willingness to learn. At one point, she even briefly assumed the mantle of Robin, making her the first female Robin in the main DC continuity—though her tenure ended in tragedy when she was seemingly killed during the “War Games” storyline.

However, Stephanie later returned, revealing that her death had been faked by Dr. Leslie Thompkins to protect her. Upon her return, she resumed her Spoiler identity and later stepped into the role of Batgirl following Cassandra Cain’s departure. As Batgirl, she grew further into her role as a true hero, earning respect from both Batman and her fellow crimefighters. While she eventually returned to being Spoiler again, Stephanie remains a fan-favorite character for her growth, determination, and underdog spirit in the ever-dangerous world of Gotham.
