The future of the DC Universe has officially arrived in plastic form, but Todd McFarlane has made a few choices that left me scratching my head. I just sat down to review the brand new DC Multiverse Deluxe Theatrical Edition Wave 4, courtesy of a review sample from Entertainment Earth, and I walked away with some incredibly mixed feelings. As the only Supergirl movie action figures available on store shelves right now, this entire wave provides an exciting, highly detailed sneak peek at what James Gunn’s cinematic DCU is going to look like. But are these deluxe-priced figures actually worth your hard-earned cash?

In my latest full video review, I take a deep dive into all four characters in this case: the movie-accurate Supergirl (featuring a wired cloth cape and an adorable Baby Krypto), the villainous Krem of the Yellow Hills, Jason Momoa’s rugged Lobo, and the highly unexpected addition of the 2015 CW Supergirl. I go hands-on to test the articulation, swap out the alternate heads, check out the paint apps, and examine the unique accessories, including Krem’s stellar axe and Lobo’s signature hook and chain.

There is plenty to love here for DCU die-hards, including some hidden wrist joints and rare thigh swivels on the thicker figures that completely change how you can display them. However, it isn’t all perfect. I hit a major roadblock when it came to checking the scaling and a highly disproportional “gorilla arms” issue on the title character that looks almost cartoonish in person. If you want to know exactly how these figures stack up against each other before you spend your money at retail, you can watch my full breakdown in the video review below!
